Gee-ology
Since the plant and animal life is this area is sparse, it's natural to look more closely at the landscape. Gee, what a lot of rocks! So many colors! We see pinks, purples, various shades of gold, red and orange, but mostly the black rock dominates. The family geoscientist, not being interested in naming rocks, refuses to comment. But upon multiple inquiries, he condescends to name that rock. The area is covered with basalt and andecite. Brick red scoria mingles with the charcoal gray andecite. Are you bored yet? We still have those aa-aa lava fields and phreatic explosions to talk about. I'll stop now even though the rest is not just a lot of schist.
