It's pouring rain and the cliffs nearby are releasing their rocks at an alarming rate. The rain is causing numerous rockfalls so we stick to the middle of the wide river bed. You can see huge chunks of glacial ice that have spawned off the glacier into the river. Pretty big snowballs.
Great rocks here! These are of a metamorphic variety - greywache, biotite, gneiss, and schist. All the rocks are covered with striations from being scratched and scraped by the glacier.
