Wanaka/Wanaka

Wanaka is a lovely little town on its eponymous lake. We are scheduled to arrive at a local B&B - next to 3 redwood trees ( I love my brother's directions!) Good directions since they are the tallest trees town. ( attn. tree lovers: in Calif they are the inland variety called "Big Trees"!) Our hosts are a reitred couple who rent out 2 bedrooms in their home. A map shows they've had visitors from almost every continent. Our room has another gorgeous view of the lake and surrounding peaks. The next morning we breakfast with them and another couple from France. It is cold this morning ( very unusual weather) and when we drive over the Cardrona pass we hit a few snow flakes. Some of the peaks have a fresh dusting of snow.
