Te Nikau

I took so many pictures of this youth hostel! It's small, hard to find and drop dead gorgeous. We can't believe it is a hostel and so cheap. We have brought dinner and breakfast fixings again since it is such a remote area - the wild west coast of the So. Island.
The trail to our "hideaway" cottage not for the infirm or out of shape. The path drops into a dense fern forest and winds around until we climb up a small slope to our cottage. Another path winds its way down to the beach.
The kitchen is small but beautifully decorated. And we find another amazing thing about the youth hostels in NZ.
