Water, Water Everywhere ...

Rain! It rained all night loudly pounding on the metal roof. This is good news for islanders.
There are a few deep wells on the island, but almost everyone gets their water supply from rainwater capture. Large tanks hold water runoff from metal roofs. This is then filtered, but not chemically treated. Water is very precious. If your tank runs low, yuou must have someone come in with a truck of water.
As we prepared to leave Rocky Bay Saturday morning, it was still raining. After breakfast in town and a brief tour of the Sat. market ( now indoors) we drove to the ferry. A bit of a rough crossing, but we continued to plan our itinerary with Mike, our ever-efficient guide.
